Golden toilet from Churchill's palace stolen in five minutes

The famous golden toilet, worth over $6 million, was stolen from Blenheim Palace, where Winston Churchill was born. New details of the investigation have revealed how the brazen criminals carried out the robbery in just five minutes.

How was the unique exhibit stolen?

The theft took place early in the morning on 14 September 2019. According to the investigation, five criminals in stolen cars rammed through the palace gates, smashed the windows and broke inside. Their target was a 98-kilogram toilet made of 18-carat gold, which was part of an art exhibition.

The criminals ripped the toilet off, loaded it into a car and fled. The entire operation took no more than five minutes.

Where is the toilet now?

Since the theft, the toilet has not been seen by anyone. The investigation suggests that the criminals cut it into pieces and attempted to sell the precious metal.

At present, three suspects are on trial, while another person pleaded guilty last year. The trial is ongoing, but the chances of recovering the stolen exhibit are virtually zero.
