Earthquake in Georgia on 12 January: magnitude 3.4

A magnitude 3.4 earthquake was recorded in the northern part of Georgia on the morning of 12 January. This information was provided by the Institute of Earth Sciences and the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, according to Echo of the Caucasus.

Epicentre location and aftermath

The epicentre of the earthquake was located 34 kilometres north-east of the settlement of Tianeti, in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. Tremors were felt in the settlement of Uknapshavi, which is situated in the Dusheti municipality.
