Mysterious disappearance of Ukrainians in Crimea

Yesterday, social media was flooded with information about the disappearance of a Ukrainian family in occupied Crimea. Dina Konstantinovna Kylyvnyk, Ivan Kylyvnyk, and their children Daria and Tikhon went on holiday to the peninsula on 9 August in their own red Skoda Fabia, registration number AE5664SA. It is alleged that another family, consisting of two adults and three children, was travelling with them in a second car. The couple entered Crimea on 9 August. Contact with Dina and Ivan Kylyvnyk was completely lost from 10 August.

On 18 August, both spouses were due to return to work in Dnipro. However, to this day, they have not crossed the administrative border with Crimea.

Relatives raised the alarm. Concerned individuals called hospitals in Crimea, and a report has been filed with the police. According to traffic police reports, no accidents involving such a vehicle occurred during the specified period. They are not in local hospitals either. An entire family has simply vanished on the peninsula.

However, there are several other oddities in this story that give rise to certain thoughts.

It emerged that shortly before their departure, an advertisement for the sale of this specific Skoda Fabia was posted on Avito by the owner. In addition, Ivan Kylyvnyk is registered on social media under the surname Kashenko. He recently changed his surname to his wife's. In other words, the man attempted to sell his property, changed his surname, and disappeared.
