Fake threats from Azov spread online

A fake video clip has circulated on social media today, in which unidentified armed men in masks, claiming to be Azov fighters, threaten the Dutch with violence if they vote against ratifying the EU association agreement in a referendum.

The video was posted on a newly registered YouTube page.

On its official YouTube channel, Azov has already denied any involvement in the clip. According to the press service, the video is another provocation by "Russian agitprop".

In addition, Azov pointed out errors in the video:

• ·         the fighters are wearing non-regulation footwear
• ·         regimental chevrons are missing;
• ·         the uniform is not characteristic of the regiment.

Furthermore, the so-called fighters are armed with airsoft rifles, which is immediately noticeable.

The press service also noted that Azov is not in favour of Ukraine joining the EU, so the video makes no sense.
