Gas station explodes in Vinnytsia, injuries reported

A gas station exploded in Vinnytsia. The blast occurred around 13:00 in the Gleb Uspensky district. A fire broke out in one of the station's tanks. According to witnesses, a column of fire rose to a height of over 10 metres.

The cause of the explosion is cited as a violation of the technological process during the transfer of gas from a tanker truck to a storage tank.

Currently, eight fire engines and 30 firefighters are working to extinguish the fire. The blaze has been contained. Rescuers are cooling the tanker truck, which contains at least 30 tonnes of gas.

Unfortunately, there were casualties. A gas station employee sustained 70% burns to his body and has been hospitalised in the burn unit of the Vinnytsia Regional Hospital.
