Investigation opened against Poland's Prime Minister Tusk

An investigation has been opened in Poland on suspicion of organising a coup d'état, involving Prime Minister Donald Tusk and other senior officials.

Allegations of serious legal violations

Bogdan Święczkowski, President of the Constitutional Tribunal of Poland, stated that the investigation concerns a number of serious violations allegedly committed by representatives of the country's executive branch. 

Polish President Andrzej Duda also expressed concern, stating that significant breaches of legislation had been identified in the actions of the authorities.

Donald Tusk reacted to the accusations with sarcasm and irony. In one video, while playing table tennis, he captioned the clip with the phrase “Государственный переворот” (Coup d'état), attaching an emoji that underscored the frivolity of the situation.
