Four counterfeit Adidas workshops shut down in Odesa

Law enforcement agencies in Odesa have shut down four underground workshops producing sportswear under the well-known brand “Adidas”.

During the search, 350 units of finished clothing, 3,500 sneakers, 60 sewing machines, as well as equipment and matrices for manufacturing labels were seized.

The total value of the seized items is estimated at 1.5 million hryvnia.

“Працівниками служби протидії злочинності у сфері економіки ГУМВС України в Одеській області припинено діяльність чотирьох «підпільних цехів» з незаконного виробництва спортивного одягу та взуття із незаконним використанням зареєстрованого знаку для товарів і послуг «Adidas».

Раніше за даним фактом слідчим відділом міськуправління ГУМВС України в Одеській області було відкрито кримінальне провадження за ознаками правопорушення, передбаченого ч. 3 ст. 229 (Незаконне використання знака для товарів і послуг, фірмового найменування, кваліфікованого зазначення походження товару) КК України», - reports the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

It is worth noting that there are not just a dozen or so, but perhaps even a hundred, such production facilities in the port city, so the temporary suspension of the activities of four workshops is unlikely to fundamentally change the situation.
