Aidar battalion veteran abducted in Kyiv

On 13 June in Kyiv, an Aidar battalion veteran, Roman Elmesa, born in 1973, was abducted by unidentified armed men in police uniforms. The fighter was roughly shoved into a car in front of his wife and taken in an unknown direction.

«13 червня 2015 року в Дніпровському районі м. Києва на пляжі біля озера, що поблизу вулиці Радужна, 11, близько 18:20-18:30 невідомі особи у формі працівників міліції викрали з пляжу Ельмеса Романа Романовича, ветерану батальйону «Айдар», із позивним «Лінза». (On 13 June 2015, in the Dnipro district of Kyiv, on a beach near the lake, close to 11 Raduzhna Street, around 18:20-18:30, unidentified persons in police uniforms abducted Roman Romanovych Elmesa, a veteran of the Aidar battalion, with the callsign "Lens", from the beach.)

Зловмисники приїхали на двох автомобілях Деу зеленого кольору та мікроавтобусі темно-синього кольору. Не представившись та не надавши документи, невідомі особи вискочили з автомобіля і без будь-яких причин, попереджень та пояснень схопили Ельмеса Романа Романовича, накинули на його голову футболку дружини Ельмес А.В., зав‘язавши її у нього на голові, та застосувавши грубу силу, запхали «айдарівця» до автомобіля. (The perpetrators arrived in two green Daewoo cars and a dark blue minibus. Without identifying themselves or presenting documents, the unidentified persons jumped out of the car and, without any reason, warning, or explanation, grabbed Roman Romanovych Elmesa, threw his wife Elmes A.V.'s t-shirt over his head, tying it around his head, and using rough force, shoved the "Aidar fighter" into the car.)

«Ці люди були озброєні як термінатори, у бронежилетах, касках та з автоматами. Накинулися на мого чоловіка, застібнули наручники, зав’язали на голову мою футболку, і в одних трусах, босого, без документів та телефону вивезли у невідомому напрямку!» - розповіла Анастасія, дружина викраденого «айдарівця». ("These people were armed like Terminators, in bulletproof vests, helmets, and with automatic rifles. They attacked my husband, cuffed him, tied my t-shirt over his head, and took him away in an unknown direction, wearing only his underwear, barefoot, without documents or a phone!" - Anastasia, the wife of the abducted "Aidar fighter", said.)

На прохання дружини пояснити причини захоплення чоловіка невідомі особи сказали їй «шукати в міліції». Анастасія та адвокат затриманого «айдарівця», Олена Ножовнік, дзвонили до служби «102», на телефони Дніпровського РУГУ МВС України в м. Києві, слідчим Генеральної прокуратури України, але всюди жінкам заявляли, що Ельмес Роман Романович не затримувався та не доставлявся до установ правоохоронних органів. (At the wife's request to explain the reasons for her husband's detention, the unidentified persons told her to "ask the police". Anastasia and the detained "Aidar fighter's" lawyer, Olena Nozhovnyk, called the "102" service, the phones of the Dnipro District Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Kyiv, and investigators of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, but everywhere the women were told that Roman Romanovych Elmesa had not been detained and had not been brought to any law enforcement agency facilities.)

Станом на сьогодні проти Ельмеса Романа Романовича, 09 квітня 1973 р.н., вчинено кримінальне правопорушення – його фактично викрадено невідомими особами, які утримують його у невідомому місці. (As of today, a criminal offence has been committed against Roman Romanovych Elmesa, born on 9 April 1973 – he has effectively been abducted by unidentified persons who are holding him in an unknown location.)

Начебто Романа мали передати на Львів по місцю реєстрації, але сьогодні Військова прокуратури Західного гарнізону повідомила, що Роман до них не поступав. Так само його нема ні у Центральній Військовій прокуратурі, ні у Генеральній. (Apparently, Roman was supposed to be transferred to Lviv at his place of registration, but today the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Western Garrison reported that Roman had not been handed over to them. Similarly, he is not in the Central Military Prosecutor's Office or the General Prosecutor's Office.)

Адвокат «айдарівця» звернулася до міліції з вимогою негайно вжити всіх заходів щодо розшуку зниклого Ельмеса Романа Романовича. Відповідна заява вже зареєстрована. (The "Aidar fighter's" lawyer appealed to the police, demanding that all measures be taken immediately to search for the missing Roman Romanovych Elmesa.
