Rare steam locomotives cut up for scrap metal in Donetsk

Just a year ago, a railway museum was located in Donetsk, which is now occupied, housing a small collection of rare steam locomotives. However, during the occupation, the museum, like many other valuable enterprises and museums, was looted.

 

The locomotives were still operational, and Russian militants attempted to transport them to Russia. However, Russian border guards did not allow them to cross the border, after which the locomotives had to be returned to Donetsk.

 

But this did not save the rare machinery. Already in Donetsk, two steam locomotives were simply cut up for scrap metal. This was revealed by an employee of that very museum, who was also a victim of the militants, having spent several weeks in the dungeons of the DNR.
