New explosion in Bangkok

Less than 24 hours after yesterday's bloody explosion in the centre of the Thai capital Bangkok, which killed at least 20 people and injured around 120 others, a second blast occurred.

This time, there were no casualties.

An unknown person threw an explosive device from a bridge into the river. As a result of the explosion, water splashed onto people nearby, who immediately scattered.

According to the police, the explosive was of low power this time and ended up in the water, which prevented casualties. Law enforcement officials stated that if the explosive device had not fallen into the river, there would undoubtedly have been injuries.

The incident occurred near a busy pier on the Chao Phraya River, where tourists and local residents gather daily.
