Former husband of Vaenga diagnosed with cancer

Doctors have diagnosed Ivan Matvienko, the former common-law partner of famous singer Elena Vaenga, with a cancerous disease. The singer announced this on her page on the social network Instagram.

Vaenga posted a photo of Matvienko smiling, with the following caption:

"Рак можно победить... Можно победить много болезней... Я знаю... Давайте верить… Давайте помогать!!!". ("Cancer can be beaten... Many diseases can be beaten... I know... Let's believe... Let's help"!!!).

However, the post was deleted some time later. The news sparked a mixed reaction among social media users. Some expressed sincere sympathy, while others accused the singer of begging.

Vaenga and Matvienko were in a relationship for 16 years. They broke up four years ago.
