Turkey tests ballistic missile launch

Turkey carried out a successful test launch of the short-range "Taifun" missile from land in the Black Sea. This was reported by the Turkish news agency DHA.

The third launch of the "Taifun" missile was carried out from the Rize-Artvin airfield at 12:37 local time. During the tests, the missile was successfully launched from the ground towards the sea.

"Taifun" is a Turkish short-range ballistic missile developed based on the Bora missile by the state-owned company Roketsan. The start of the missile's development became known in October 2022, following a successful first test.

The exact tactical and technical characteristics of the missile remain classified, and Roketsan does not disclose information about the system's actual specifications. In October 2023, the "Taifun" missile was officially adopted by the Turkish armed forces.
