Newly elected US President Donald Trump stated his readiness to impose high taxes, tariffs, and sanctions on Russian exports if a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine is not reached in the near future.

Trump emphasised that the proposed measures would affect not only the supply of Russian goods to the US, but also exports to other countries.
