Trump did not promise to end the war by Easter

Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the US Valery Chaly commented on Donald Trump's statement concerning the end of the war within six months, noting that this is not related to specific deadlines for ending the war.

According to him, Trump did not state that he would "end the war in six months" ("прекратит войну через полгода"). The journalist's question concerned a possible meeting with the Russian leader. In response to a clarifying question about the three-to-six-month timeframe, Trump merely noted that such a conversation could take place during this period, possibly even earlier.

Chaly emphasised that this phrase can be interpreted in various ways, but it certainly does not indicate the end of the war within the specified timeframe, as presented in some media headlines.
