The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy stated that the completion of the Khmelnytskyi NPP construction will not lead to an increase in electricity tariffs. On the contrary, the launch of two new nuclear units is aimed at maintaining the tariff at an acceptable level, which will be lower than the market rate.

The ministry made this statement in response to further accusations by the controversial MP Zheleznyak.

In addition, the Ministry of Energy emphasised that the project will not be funded from the state budget. Construction will be fully financed through commercial loans and the company's own funds, Energoatom.
