Baltic states complete disconnection from Russian and Belarusian power grid

News reports state that Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania have completed the process of disconnecting from the power grid of Russia and Belarus. Within the next few hours, the power systems of these countries will operate in autonomous mode, and by the end of 9 February, they plan to connect to the European energy network. 

The transition is expected to have no impact on consumers, as the process will be virtually imperceptible.

The decision to exit the Russian power system was made back in 2017 with the aim of reducing dependence on Russian energy resources. However, following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, this process was significantly accelerated, and the Baltic states decided to finally complete it this year.
