No joint Shyrokyne patrols with DNR

Yesterday, several media outlets published information that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would patrol Shyrokyne jointly with terrorists from the DNR. However, the General Staff press service officially refuted this today. According to them, such an option was proposed during negotiations of the Trilateral Contact Group but was rejected by the Ukrainian side.

(During the talk show "Freedom of Speech" on the ICTV channel, Major General Oleksandr Rozmazin, Deputy Head of the Main Command Centre of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, made a statement about the possibility of joint patrolling of the territory of Shyrokyne village in Donetsk Oblast by units of the Ukrainian police and the armed formations of the separate districts of Donetsk Oblast (ORDO).)

Офіційно заявляємо, що інтерпретація цього повідомлення з боку деяких вітчизняних та іноземних ЗМІ є недостовірною та вводить в оману суспільство. (We officially state that the interpretation of this message by some domestic and foreign media is unreliable and misleads the public.)

У ході виступу на телепрограмі генерал-майор Розмазнін мав на увазі лише одну з пропозицій, яку озвучили інші учасники переговорного процесу у рамках Тристоронньої контактної групи. Українська сторона не погодилася на цю пропозицію. (During his appearance on the TV programme, Major General Rozmazin referred only to one of the proposals voiced by other participants in the negotiation process within the framework of the Trilateral Contact Group. The Ukrainian side did not agree to this proposal.)

Україна підтримує ініціативу облаштування постійно діючого спостережного пункту місії ОБСЄ у селі Широкине. Відповідно до мирних ініціатив Президента України, створення 30-км демілітаризованої зони на схід від Маріуполя та підписання необхідних документів має бути завершене до 3 серпня 2015 року. (Ukraine supports the initiative to establish a permanent observation post of the OSCE mission in Shyrokyne village. In accordance with the peace initiatives of the President of Ukraine, the creation of a 30-km demilitarised zone east of Mariupol and the signing of the necessary documents must be completed by 3 August 2015.)

Збройні Сили України утримують оборонні рубежі біля Маріуполя та не допустять жодної спроби зриву режиму тиші або нової агресії з боку збройних формувань ОРДО (The Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding defensive lines near Mariupol and will not allow any attempt to violate the ceasefire regime or new aggression by the armed formations of ORDO)», - reports the General Staff press service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
