Slovakia unable to halt electricity supplies

Slovak authorities stated that European regulations make it technically difficult to stop electricity deliveries to Ukraine.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal emphasised that Slovakia and its power grid are part of the ENTSO-E, the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity.

He explained that even if Slovakia were technically able to suspend supplies for a short period, under the rules of the integrated market, the volume of electricity would be redistributed proportionally among other supplier countries.
