Renowned Russian actor Georgy Taratorkin has died at the age of 73. The information was published on the website of the Moscow Soviet Theatre, where the artist worked.

According to the statement, Georgy Taratorkin had been ill for a long time. Less than a month ago, the artist celebrated his 72nd birthday.

During his career, Georgy Taratorkin played more than 30 roles in film, several of which proved to be very memorable. In addition, the artist served in theatre and was the president of the "Golden Mask" association.

The farewell ceremony for the actor will take place on 6 February at his home theatre.
