Scandal over undervalued car in investigator Maistrik's declaration

Recently, senior investigator Taras Maistrik of the Shepetivka District Police Department in Khmelnytskyi Oblast filed his 2024 declaration, which contained interesting but questionable data regarding his assets. Particular attention was drawn to information about his car, the value of which was undervalued several times in the declaration.

Maistrik family's real estate and income

According to the declaration, Taras Maistrik and his wife Sviatlana Maistrik are the owners of an 82 sq m apartment in Neteshyn (Khmelnytskyi Oblast), which they hold in joint ownership.

Last year, the investigator earned 435,000 UAH in salary, while his wife, Sviatlana, receives a 33,600 UAH pension. Maistrik also stated that his family received a gift worth 207,000 UAH from a relative, Larysa Vasyliivna Maistrik. However, regarding savings, the family has only 3,000 euros in cash.

Clarifications regarding the AUDI Q7 car

However, the most attention was drawn to information about the purchase of a 2011 AUDI Q7. According to the declaration, Maistrik purchased this car for just 78,000 UAH (approximately 1,900 dollars). Meanwhile, the market value of such a car on the secondary market starts from 10,000 dollars, which raises serious doubts about the real cost of the transaction.
