Situation in Mariinka remains severe. Many wounded

Fierce fighting has been taking place in the Mariinka and Krasnohorivka areas since early this morning. According to military officials, terrorists are not giving up attempts to break through and encircle from all possible points in this area, using heavy weapons that were supposed to be withdrawn under the Minsk agreements.

At present, at least 30 Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) soldiers have been wounded, while the number of injured civilians varies between 3 and 7 depending on the source. Almost all the wounded have already been evacuated from the combat zone, but new casualties are emerging every hour. 

According to social media reports, there are civilian casualties in Krasnohorivka. In Mariinka, one AFU soldier has been killed.

Meanwhile, military officials have refuted reports that AFU forces have left Mariinka, stating instead that reinforcements have arrived and the settlement remains under the control of the Ukrainian side for the time being.
