Sasha Borovik leaves the Cabinet of Ministers

German lawyer who acquired Ukrainian citizenship several months ago, Sasha Borovik, publicly announced today his resignation from the post of First Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

According to Borovik, he was simply left with no other choice. Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has refused to sign Borovik's appointment for two months, resulting in Borovik working in the Cabinet of Ministers as a de facto volunteer during this period.

Today, his email was blocked, and his team was informed that Sasha Borovik would not return to his office.

The lawyer sees the cause of the situation in a conflict that arose between him and Yatsenyuk back in March. The Prime Minister allegedly disliked that Borovik intended to speak honestly about everything he observed, rather than evading the issue.

Moreover, Borovik regularly reminded Yatsenyuk that Europe expects a report on the funds provided to Ukraine.

The Cabinet of Ministers has not yet commented on the situation. However, Borovik's statement alone is a very alarming signal.
