Saakashvili fires officials who were requested to be kept by superiors

Yesterday, an interview with the new governor of Odesa Oblast, Mikhail Saakashvili, was broadcast on the Georgian channel Rustavi 2, in which he shared his plans and spoke about his new position.

Among other things, Saakashvili stated that from the first hours in his new role, he began receiving numerous calls from certain high-ranking individuals asking him not to remove specific people. In response, the governor decided to act in his usual manner, firing all the officials who had been requested to be kept as a priority, and promised to continue doing so in the future.

Judging by the wave of dissatisfaction with the appointment of the former Georgian president as governor of Odesa Oblast that is rising on the internet and in the media, Saakashvili is doing everything right.
