Delays in the printing of biometric passports have resurfaced

Ukrainian residents who put off obtaining a biometric foreign passport until the last minute have encountered new problems. Not only has the cost of issuing the travel document increased since the beginning of the month, but its production is also experiencing significant delays.

Real people have shared this information on social media. According to one of the affected individuals, she paid for the expedited production of the document. A month has already passed since her visit to the CNAP, yet the document is still at the "verification" stage.

The woman already has travel vouchers in hand, and replacing them will cost her money. Furthermore, the holiday is booked for specific dates.

To speed up the process, she had to file an application for expedited processing. According to the woman, several other people were preparing similar documents at the same time, having encountered the same problem.

Reason for the delay

It turned out that the delay is caused by the district migration service. It simply cannot confirm the fact of the citizen's existence in a timely manner. The district migration service does not respond to calls or letters.

The situation is no better when applying directly at the district migration service office. This is without even mentioning the level of service.

To date, more than three million Ukrainians have obtained biometric passports. That is, practically 10% of the country's total population. The numbers are growing daily, as is the number of those who have already taken advantage of the visa-free regime.

At the same time, there are those who are wary of obtaining a biometric passport. People simply do not want their fingerprints to be stored in the database. However, such individuals are in the minority.
