In ancient times, Tibetan doctors used violets to treat respiratory diseases such as bronchitis and tonsillitis. Today, this time-tested recipe can be used to relieve coughing.
Ingredients and preparation
To prepare the tea, you only need a few simple ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon of violet flowers or leaves
- 1 litre of boiling water
Pour boiling water over the violets, cover the container with a lid and let it steep for 5 minutes. Once the tea has cooled slightly, honey can be added for sweetness.

This drink is ideal even for children. Children can be given up to 3 cups of tea a day, while adults can have up to 5 cups.
