Kyiv Prosecutor Dismissed from Post

Today, in accordance with the Law on De-communisation, Kyiv City Prosecutor Serhiy Yuldashev was dismissed from his position.

It is worth noting that shortly before this, Vitaliy Kuprii, a Ukrainian People's Deputy from the coalition, sent an official  request to Prosecutor General Shokin, in which he asked to enter into the ERDR «сведения о совершении прокурором города Киева Юлдашевым С.А. уголовных правонарушений с предварительной правовой квалификацией по статьям 364 ч. 3, 191 ч.5, 367 ч.2, 368 ч.4 УК Украины» (information on the commission of criminal offences by Kyiv City Prosecutor S.A. Yuldashev with preliminary legal qualification under Articles 364 Part 3, 191 Part 5, 367 Part 2, 368 Part 4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The Prosecutor General's Office has officially launched an investigation into Yuldashev's activities, so the dismissal of the Kyiv Prosecutor can also be viewed as a consequence of this inquiry.

Inevitably, in the near future the list of prosecutors challenging their dismissal under the de-communisation law in court will be joined by another “honest and principled” official.
