Panama President says Trump is lying

Panama President José Raúl Mulino publicly refuted Donald Trump's claim that the Panama Canal is allegedly returning to US control. In a post on X, Mulino stated that Trump is once again spreading lies by asserting that the process of returning the canal to US hands has supposedly already begun.

Reaction to Trump's statement

Mulino emphasised that the issue of returning the Panama Canal had never been raised during his conversations with US officials, including Secretary Rubio. According to the Panamanian President, this statement has nothing to do with reality and constitutes a new insult to the truth and the national dignity of Panama.

Defending national sovereignty

Mulino expressed firm protest on behalf of the entire Panamanian people, noting that such statements only undermine respect for the country and its sovereignty.
