US fighter jet crashes
A US fighter jet crashed in the Persian Gulf Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet belonging to the US Navy.
The aircraft crashed almost immediately after taking off from the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt. Fortunately, no lives were lost, and both crew members managed to eject. Rescuers have already located and saved the crew.
According to the US Navy press service, the aircraft carrier is directly involved in coalition bombing campaigns against the "Islamic State" militant group in Syria and Iraq. The Persian Gulf is one of the ship's areas of responsibility.
The exact cause of the plane's fall is being determined. However, the Navy assures that the crash is not linked to hostile action.
