Poroshenko comments on situation in Mariupol

For several days now, panic has been spreading among the public and on social media regarding the alleged "surrender" of Mariupol. Some claim that this is precisely why the president closed the Roshen factory in the city several months ago. Today, Poroshenko decided to personally comment on what awaits Mariupol in the near future.

«Ми посилюємо захист Маріуполя елітними підрозділами ЗСУ. Не сійте паніку. Не заважайте воювати Збройним Силам України» (We are strengthening the defence of Mariupol with elite units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Do not sow panic. Do not interfere with the Armed Forces of Ukraine fighting), said Petro Poroshenko.

At the same time, the president noted that Mariupol has no connection to the buffer zone.

However, his words seem unconvincing, as a number of MPs and fighters from volunteer battalions continue to fuel the wave of "betrayal" rhetoric.
