Radosław Sikorski Resigns

Recordings of conversations between senior Polish officials recently leaked to the press. The recordings were made in one of Warsaw's restaurants.

It was announced today that, following the Polish government ministers, the Speaker of the lower house of parliament, Radosław Sikorski, has also decided to resign.

A separate session of the Sejm's advisory body is planned after lunch, during which Jerzy Wenderlich will be appointed as the acting Marshal.

The Alliance of the Democratic Left intends to nominate the same candidate for the position of the head of the Sejm. He may face competition from Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, whose candidacy will undoubtedly be proposed by the Civic Platform party.
