Demolition expert detained near Mariupol

In the settlement of Sartana, a demolition expert and member of Nikolai Grynchenko's sabotage-reconnaissance group was detained. This was announced by the head of the Donetsk Regional Police, Vyacheslav Abroskin.

 

“One of the members of Nikolai Grynchenko's sabotage-reconnaissance group has been detained.

As a result of a special operation by officers of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast, a resident of Mariupol, born in 1982, who heads a laboratory at one of the city's educational institutions and was part of Nikolai Grynchenko's sabotage group, was detained. On the latter's orders, he manufactured explosive devices for the demolition of two bridges in Mariupol on the night of 22 to 23 December last year.

Search operations to locate and detain the criminal Grynchenko himself are ongoing.

At 10:00, residents of Sartana reported that a man resembling Grynchenko was found on the territory of a garden association. According to eyewitnesses, he left the dacha cooperative premises shortly afterwards. Officers of the regional police department, together with units of the National Guard of Ukraine and the "Sokol" combined unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, conducted search operations in the settlement. The saboteur was not found and is still in the city. Search operations are continuing...,” said Vyacheslav Abroskin.
