Deception on Weighed and Happy

Deception on Weighed and Happy
The STB show Weighed and Happy boasts massive ratings. It is watched by a large audience, a portion of whom also struggle with excess weight. Consequently, some of them are bound to replicate the exercises they see on the show. This is precisely what triggered the scandal.

A sports blogger mocked the broadcasts featuring participants training on their page, arguing what exactly upset them. The issue is that such exercises are impossible for people with significant weight to perform, as they negatively affect joints, the heart, and other organs, and can even cause death. Under one of this blogger's video breakdowns, Marina Uzelkova (Borzhevska) suddenly appeared in the comments, addressing some show participants who claimed that it was merely a visual for TV.

In reality, the participants do not perform these exercises; they do not do 150 squats, jump, or engage in other such activities. In other words, it is all fiction. "

"I am watching this professional discussion and thinking: interesting, which filming are you analysing this training from? Because it seems you are not focused on the process, but simply looking to bite. Yes, these are clips from a filmed training session. And yes, the goal of such episodes is not to show a full-fledged training workout. We do not film all 100 percent of the actual work done behind the scenes.
In the Weighed and Happy project, there are dozens of hours of real work with people who struggle to breathe, let alone jump. And that is why an adapted version appears on camera: simulation of jumps, jump rope work without jumping, to remove fear, feel the rhythm, activate coordination, and engage the body. A trainer who truly works with people with significant excess weight understands: you cannot push; you need to guide gently. That is why those who had never jumped received a safe simulation. And those who had experience (sports, boxing, football) were simply able to recall body movement. It was not a constant load, but just one exercise in a large system of training. However, criticising a fragment from the broadcast without knowing the context, without understanding the tasks of the filming process, and without seeing the full programme is, at the very least, unprofessional. And at the most, petty. Public criticism is, of course, convenient. Especially if the "accidental" analysis focuses on a woman's training rather than that of a male colleague from the same project. But I will not comment on your motives. I will leave that to the viewer. I have experience that is not measured by followers or loud statements. But by dozens of changed fates, conquered kilograms, stories of pain and victory..." - Marina wrote in the comments.

Marina's words were also confirmed by a participant of the latest season - Olya. She said that they do not perform such exercises and that it is merely a visual for the viewer. So the project intentionally deceives the viewer to create a beautiful picture and a real show. Well, nothing new.
