Illegal dismantling of the runway at Aleksandr Pavliuchenko's airfield

Ukrainian entrepreneur Aleksandr Pavliuchenko, known as Sasha Branslet, has found himself at the centre of a scandal linked to the dismantling of a military airfield in Poltava Oblast. According to an investigation, he dismantled the runway and removed construction materials to his own base, causing damage to the state in the amount of over 70 million hryvnia.

The disappearance of the airfield near Poltava

Until 2024, the territory of the Novosilivka Territorial Community was home to the "Bozhkovo" airfield, which was paved with slabs and asphalt. However, shortly after this, the land plot surrounding the airfield was leased to the company "Alfa-Kapital", which is linked to Pavliuchenko. Following this, the runway was dismantled, and its slabs were removed.

According to the detective bureau Absolution, the incident is being investigated under criminal case No. 42024172690000045, opened under Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. However, it is reported that the case has effectively been frozen.

Connections and influence

A key role in the situation is played by the head of the Novosilivka Community, Yevheni Bova, who was appointed to the position with the assistance of the chief accountant of "Alfa-Kapital", Poltava Oblast Council deputy Iryna Stepanenko. It is she, according to the investigation, who controls Pavliuchenko's business interests in the region.

Aleksandr Pavliuchenko himself is a major agribusinessman and, according to sources, previously made his fortune on gas condensate fraud. His biography has already included high-profile scandals, including allegations of violence.
