Three soldiers missing on border with Crimea

On the administrative border with the Crimean peninsula yesterday three Ukrainian soldiers disappeared without a trace. This information appeared on the official page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Зранку 5 вересня стало відомо про зникнення трьох військовослужбовців 79 окремої аеромобільної бригади старшого солдата Юрова О.І. та солдатів Орленко О.О. і Мекшуна К.М. В ході розшукових заходів було встановлено, що вищевказані військовослужбовці в ніч з 04.09.2015 на 05.09.2015 змінилися зі спостережного посту, прибули в розташування, переодягнулися в цивільний одяг (тапки, шорти та тільники) та зі слів їх співслужбовців убули купатися до дамби, яка знаходиться на території, суміжній з незаконно окупованою територією АР Крим.
Як згодом з’ясувалося, уночі у цей район під’їжджали 2 автомобілі (УАЗ та УРАЛ) зі сторони незаконно окупованої території АР Крим та можливо незаконно затримали наших військовослужбовців. 
Зброя, набої та документи військовослужбовців залишилися у розташуванні підрозділу. На даний час проводиться службове розслідування та розшук. (It was learned on the morning of 5 September about the disappearance of three servicemen of the 79th Separate Airborne Brigade: Senior Private Yuriyov O.I. and Privates Orlyenko O.O. and Mekshun K.M. During search operations, it was established that the aforementioned servicemen, during the night from 04.09.2015 to 05.09.2015, changed shifts from an observation post, arrived at their location, changed into civilian clothes (slippers, shorts and tank tops) and, according to their comrades, went to swim at a dam located in an area adjacent to the illegally occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
As later turned out, two vehicles (UAZ and Ural) approached this area from the side of the illegally occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea during the night and may have illegally detained our servicemen. 
The weapons, ammunition and documents of the servicemen remained at the unit's location. At present, an official investigation and search are underway.)

One hopes that the Ukrainian servicemen will be found and returned to the country, rather than joining the ranks of those held in Russian prisons and pre-trial detention centres.
