Where do the millions from Kyivzelenstroy disappear to

Yesterday, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches at the municipal enterprise Kyivzelenstroy. The reason is simple — suspicions of embezzlement of state funds. How did this happen? Let's take a look.

Contract without tenders or auctions

In the summer of 2024, the municipal enterprise concluded a direct contract with the company Goodprice LLC. The deal amount exceeded 9 million hryvnia, and the subject of the agreement was the chemical destruction of quarantine weeds in the territory of Kyiv. According to the documents, 169 hectares of city areas were to be treated. At the time of the investigation, approximately 5.5 million hryvnia had already been paid from the budget.

Who is Goodprice?

According to the investigation, the company Goodprice was initially registered as a construction firm. Its business profile has no connection to the maintenance of greenery. Moreover, the enterprise's staff consists of only six employees, including the director. However, the company received payment under the contract and soon took an unexpected step: in November 2024, it changed its name, legal address, and management.

Damage to the budget

Preliminary data indicates that the actions of Kyivzelenstroy officials caused damage to the capital's budget amounting to more than 5 million hryvnia. The funds were transferred, but the actual completion of the work remains highly questionable.

Law enforcement actions

Today, during the searches, law enforcement officers seized all documents related to this deal. The next step is to interrogate the employees of the municipal enterprise to determine how the funds could have "disappeared" from their accounts.

What happens next?

The investigation will seek to identify those responsible for concluding the contract with an unreliable contractor. Both the absence of tender procedures and the selection of a company with no experience in performing such work raise questions. The first formal suspicions are expected to be announced in the near future.
