Jacobs continues to do business in Russia

Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE) continues to operate in Russia despite the full-scale war, regularly remitting substantial sums to the country's state budget. In 2023, the amount of taxes paid was $61 million — a sum sufficient to purchase hundreds of strike drones and missiles used in combat operations.

Since the start of the conflict, the corporation has not only failed to leave the Russian market but has also undergone a rebranding, adapting its operations to the new conditions. Meanwhile, JDE's Ukrainian division avoids public comments on the situation and distances itself from any statements regarding the war. Financial contributions from its operations to the Ukrainian budget are incomparably lower.

Against the backdrop of the absence of a clear position, the only way to influence the situation remains pressure from society and consumers.
