Hackers breach Rosreestr

A large-scale cyberattack was carried out against the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography of the Russian Federation (Rosreestr). As a result, hackers gained access to the personal data of millions of Russian citizens.

Russian Telegram channels report this, citing analysts from DLBI.

В качестве подтверждения они выложили в открытый доступ ссылку на загрузку части базы данных, содержащей 81 990 606 записей» (According to the hackers' statement, they have obtained access to over 2 billion records, with a total volume of approximately 1 TB. As proof, they have published a public link to download a portion of the database containing 81,990,606 records), the sources write.

The leaked data reportedly includes:

• full names;
• email addresses (401,000 unique records);
• phone numbers (7.5 million unique records);
• residential addresses;
• passport details (series, number, issuing authority and date);
• date of birth;
• SNILS (individual insurance account number);
• company information.

Particular attention is drawn to the fact that the database contains over 12,500 records using the word “rosreestr” in email addresses and more than 1,100 email addresses on the @rosreestr.ru domain. The most recent of the presented records is dated 10 March 2024.

Rosreestr, for its part, has denied the information about the alleged data leak.

«На данный момент проводится дополнительная проверка сведений, распространенных в ряде Telegram-каналов» (At present, an additional verification of the information disseminated in a number of Telegram channels is being conducted), the agency said.
