Grenade planted on car of head of Cherkasy Regional Court of Appeal

Vladimir Babenko, head of the Cherkasy Regional Court of Appeal, had a grenade planted on his car by unknown individuals.

The court head personally informed law enforcement agencies that an explosive device was attached to the underside of his vehicle.

Police officers who arrived at the scene discovered an F-1 grenade, which was seized and sent for expert examination.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 379 – an attack on the life of a judge. Investigative actions are underway. The identity of the would-be bomber is being established.

It can only be speculated what prompted the court head to look under the underside of his car. There is no information about threats he has received. It appears that Vladimir Babenko has valid reasons to fear for his life.
