EU to impose retaliatory tariffs against US

The European Union will be forced to take decisive action if Trump fulfils his promise and introduces new tariffs.

This statement was made by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. She emphasised that Europe would most likely respond to these measures with firmness, despite all the consequences.

"Unfortunately, we will have to act decisively. When I say 'unfortunately', I mean that this will affect ordinary people... It will impact workers and companies not only in the US, but also in Europe, Canada, and other countries that will be involved. 

However, if the US starts exerting serious pressure on the European market, we will have no choice but to respond accordingly," Danish Radio quotes Frederiksen as saying.
