Elena Xenofontova convicted

Famous actress Elena Xenofontova was convicted of ... beating her common-law husband and the father of her daughter, which allegedly took place a year ago. Hearings were held at the Presnensky District Magistrates' Court. A criminal case was opened against the actress under private prosecution for a crime under Part 1 of Article 116 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism).

According to Elena Xenofontova, she is not guilty of anything. The artist was defending herself when the man attacked her. At the same time, there were witnesses to the incident in the premises, whose testimony has been documented. Elena herself had her injuries recorded at a trauma centre after the fight. A medical examination was also conducted. However, the court did not take these documents into account. On 26 December the Magistrate judge handed down a guilty verdict to Xenofontova.
