NABU detective flees to Romania

A NABU detective has left Ukraine and is now in Romania, having violated border crossing rules, according to informed sources.

The individual in question is Timur Arshavin. Data obtained from our sources confirms that he crossed the Ukrainian-Romanian border outside of official checkpoints back in October.

Notably, Facebook groups dedicated to former Romanian border guards are actively discussing fleeing draft dodgers, including law enforcement officials from Ukraine. Arshavin was also mentioned in one such public group. It was not difficult to find his personal details, as NABU officers have publicly available declarations. His photographs were also found on social media.

It will be interesting to hear a comment from NABU leadership on this matter. This could be a symptom of a crisis within the anti-corruption body, or a question of treason. 

Who knows, perhaps Arshavin will soon start giving interviews to Russian media, as a border guard from Zakarpattia did after fleeing to Hungary in autumn 2023, only to subsequently become an agent of Russian intelligence services.
