MPs demand vote on Ukrenergo bill

For the umpteenth time today, MPs of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada failed to get close to considering the Ukrenergo bill. Instead, they keep finding new, supposedly more important laws.

However, there were those for whom this bill proved to be of paramount importance. MPs from the "Euro-optimists" group blocked the Verkhovna Rada rostrum today, demanding that the chamber finally proceed to a vote on the Ukrenergo bill.

True, this did nothing to bring them closer to a vote; Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Groysman adjourned the session until 16:00. MPs hope that the bill will finally be considered during the evening session, but whether there will be enough votes to pass it remains an open question.
