DTEK announces €140 million investment to build energy storage facilities in Ukraine

Energy company DTEK has announced its intention to invest €140 million in the creation of six energy storage facilities within Ukraine. These facilities will be constructed in various regions of the country, marking a significant step towards stabilising and improving the energy infrastructure.

The capacity of the new systems ranges from 20 to 50 megawatts, with a total storage capacity of 400 megawatt-hours. This will enable the supply of electricity to 600,000 households for two hours, which will have a substantial impact on improving the reliability of power supply in the country.

Energy storage facilities play a crucial role in the development of a decentralised energy system. They allow for efficient management of energy flows and ensure the optimal use of renewable energy sources. 

This, in turn, contributes to reducing dependence on traditional energy sources and enhancing the resilience of the system as a whole.
