Corruption on routes: Kyiv City State Administration officials to face trial over bribes from transport operator

The deputy head of a department of the Kyiv City State Administration initiated the termination of a contract with a transport operator but proposed to "settle the matter". Through an intermediary, the business owner was told the conditions: to pay 40,000 hryvnia weekly for the opportunity to continue operating on the route.

The rates were as follows:
• 800 hryvnia per working day for each bus;
• 600 hryvnia per day off.

The total amount of recorded bribes amounted to 280,000 hryvnia.
