UAH 12 billion in aid for the AFU remains unspent

As of the beginning of 2025, more than 12 billion hryvnias allocated for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine remain unspent and are held in a special account at the National Bank. This was reported by People's Deputy Nina Yuzhanina.

During 2024, approximately 16 billion hryvnias in equivalent were deposited into the specified account, which was opened to support the defence forces. However, only 5.9 billion hryvnias from this amount were transferred for the army's needs. Consequently, the balance of funds in the special account as of 1 January 2025 stands at 12.3 billion hryvnias.

This fact raises questions regarding the efficiency of financial aid distribution and the timeliness of its utilisation to ensure the country's defence capabilities.
