The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports on the development of two new artificial intelligence models. These solutions were created jointly with NATO Strategic Command Transformation and with the support of the Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC). The main objective of the innovations is to help predict strikes by enemy unmanned aerial vehicles near the front line and optimise the process of planning the use of Ukrainian artillery.

Presentation of developments in Vilnius

Experts presented both solutions at a JATEC seminar held at the National Cybersecurity Centre in Vilnius. Around 30 NATO experts and Ukrainian military analysts from various units of the Defence Forces participated in the event.

Predicting enemy drone actions

The first model is designed to forecast the activity of enemy UAVs. It operates by analysing accumulated data, weather conditions, and the current situation on the battlefield. According to the General Staff, specialists have already tested the algorithm on real datasets, refined it, and prepared it for integration into UAF situational awareness systems.

Automating artillery fire planning

The second development helps plan the use of artillery by automatically creating and evaluating action options. A prototype of this model has already been handed over to Ukrainian military personnel for testing and verification.
