Appeal to law enforcement

People's Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko released information about an incident in Lutsk, where employees of the Territorial Centre for Recruitment and Social Support are suspected of unlawfully detaining a man who held deferment status. According to the parliamentarian, the citizen was held in the centre's premises for three days without proper legal grounds. Currently, the materials obtained as a result of the inspection have been handed over to the police for further investigation.

Details of the situation

As reported by the daughter of the person concerned, her father was forcibly brought to the TCC. He was then referred to a military medical commission session. Despite the man having a deferment, he remained within the walls of the recruitment centre for another three days, she said.

Reaction of the parliamentary committee

The temporary investigative committee of the Verkhovna Rada, headed by Oleksiy Honcharenko, intervened in the case and appealed to the Military Law Enforcement Service. After the relevant inspection was conducted, the documents were handed over to law enforcement officers. The deputy also added that TCC staff involved in the violations have been held disciplinarily liable.

The statement does not disclose whether the police have opened a criminal case, nor what specific procedural decisions were made at this stage.
