US President's stance on sanctions pressure

Donald Trump, who heads the administration of the United States, publicly explained the reason why Washington refrained from implementing the planned "hellish sanctions" against the Russian Federation. The US leader directly linked this decision to the successful release of American citizen Stephen Hubbard, who recently returned to his homeland.

Comment on a "wonderful person"

Commenting on the event, the President noted that his actions received public support due to the citizen's return. "Everyone thinks I did the right thing because we were able to bring back a wonderful person. You know, we have a person who can be called a hostage, a prisoner, or whatever, and he just landed," Trump emphasised.

In his statement, the head of state underscored the significance of Hubbard's return, effectively justifying the refusal to intensify sanctions pressure on Moscow by this very fact.
