Claim of "miraculous healing"

Oksana Marchenko, a television presenter who fled to Russia after the start of the full-scale invasion and continues to publicly support Russian propaganda, published an account of her "miraculous healing". In an interview with Russian propagandists, the godmother of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin claims that eight wounds on her chest disappeared after a pilgrimage to the relics of Saint Spyridon in Greece.

Description of health condition before the visit

According to Marchenko, before the trip, she suffered from eight bright red burns that had not healed. The woman admitted that she was forced to hide these areas of skin by wearing clothes with high collars.

«Я з вісьмома ранами на грудях. У мене вісім опіків страшних, навіть не зарубцьованих. Вони були яскравого кольору. Я носила високі водолазки, тому що це було жахливо» (I have eight wounds on my chest. I have eight terrible burns, not even scarred over. They were bright in colour. I wore high-necked turtlenecks because it was awful), she emphasised.

Healing story

Marchenko told that while staying near the relics, a priest bent her towards the box containing the relics. According to her, the next morning her skin became absolutely clean.

«А вранці я встала з абсолютно чистою шкірою. Хтось може сказати: ну, звичайно, там загоїлося, і все минуло. Я навіть не намагаюся нікого переконувати» (And in the morning I got up with absolutely clean skin. Someone might say: well, of course, it healed there, and it all passed. I am not even trying to convince anyone), the presenter added.

Lack of medical details

It is worth noting that Marchenko provided no explanations regarding the cause of these formations on her skin. She did not mention a possible dermatological nature of the problem, which could have disappeared on its own, nor did she inform about seeking medical help or receiving a diagnosis.
