Ukraine's Foreign Ministry apologises to Lithuania for drone incursion into its airspace

A Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle unexpectedly found itself in Lithuanian airspace. Kyiv officially confirmed that it was indeed a Ukrainian drone that changed its planned course under the influence of Russian radio-electronic suppression (REB) systems.

Official reaction from Kyiv

Tykhyi, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, addressed the Lithuanian side with official apologies for this incident. The MFA explained that the UAV's deviation from its route was a consequence of the impact of Russian REB systems.

Circumstances of the event

The incident occurred in the morning. The drone entered the zone of action of Russian REB systems, which led to a change in course and the subsequent crossing of the Lithuanian state border.
